Request

Please may I request an up to date list of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers that have or will be involved with the development £466m hospital in St Helier, Jersey?

Response

We have used the definition of ‘development’ as set out in Article 5 of the Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002:

Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002

Using this definition the physical development of a new hospital has not yet commenced and no contractors have yet been appointed to build the hospital.

The Future Hospital Project encompasses a number of schemes, some of which have been delivered separately to the main hospital scheme.

The attached document contains details of:

  • contractors and suppliers who have been involved with the development of the enabling schemes met from the overall project budget of £466 million, and

  • advisors who are companies that have contributed to the enabling schemes and/or the main scheme through the provision of professional services

Contractors and suppliers

J3 is a Joint Venture between Sir Robert McAlpine, FES Limited and local company the Garenne Group. J3 have been appointed on a pre-contract services agreement (PCSA) following an open competitive tendering process. The PCSA procures services to advance the project, but does not provide for construction work to be undertaken. The PCSA provides for a separate building works contract to be entered into with J3 once a Target Price has been agreed. At this stage, no such contract is in place.

If and when a contract is placed it will involve sub-contractors and suppliers, however, as this position has not been reached it is not possible, with certainty, to identify either sub-contractors or suppliers that would be engaged.
