Response
The Channel Islands Tender Portal is the online contract and procurement portal for tender opportunities across the Channel Islands. It is available to view at the following link:
Channel Islands Tenders
The following information about the portal can be found on the homepage of the above website:
This portal is designed to allow the sharing of information about existing contracts and forthcoming tender opportunities across the Channel Islands. It is a joint venture between the States of Jersey and the States of Guernsey to facilitate electronic tendering and procurement across both jurisdictions.
The portal was initially launched by the States of Jersey in April 2008 and the States of Guernsey joined in February 2009. The content and procurement activity will increase as more and more suppliers and customers use the system. As well as being used for single large projects, Departments will also be able to use the system for obtaining repeated low value quotations from registered suppliers. The following processes can be managed using the portal:
Supplier registrations
Expressions of interest
Pre-qualification and selection
Electronic tendering and quotations
Supplier and contract management
The system is purely web based and therefore requires no software to be held on either buyers or suppliers IT systems. No specialist or expensive equipment is required to access the tendering system, just a basic computer with access to the web and a valid e-mail address.
There are no registration or subscription charges to suppliers – it is totally free of charge – and the registration process itself is very quick and user friendly!
A list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) can be accessed on the left of the screen to provide a bit more information on eTendering. If you would prefer however to speak to a member of the Corporate Procurement Team about the system or general purchasing issues then use the contact us section.
