What are the overall costs for the 20 mph speed changes being made on the roads in the St Helier ring road including costs for signage, labour costs to install signs, fuel costs and so on.
Response
The Government of Jersey has an ongoing programme to review the speed limits in all of the parishes.
The work required to introduce the 20mph speed limit around the St Helier ring road was combined with other areas of St Helier and Grouville.
The overall cost of work carried out on the Government of Jersey main roads to change the speed limits in Q1 2019 was £13,703.70.
The estimated proportion of costs to implement the speed changes in St Helier is £7,455.70.
These figures do not include costs incurred by the Parish of St Helier for erecting signs and poles on parish bye roads. However, this information may be held by the parishes so you might wish to send your information request in writing to them at: foi@parish.gov.je
