Request
A
Please could I have information on how many children went off-island for treatment in 2018? This includes both medical and mental health treatment for children aged 0 to 18 years old.
B
Also, which hospitals where most referrals to, the most frequently visited for treatment and care for babies and children from Jersey?
Response
A
131 children (aged 0-17) travelled off-island for medical or mental health treatment in 2018.
B
The table below shows the total number of referrals to UK hospitals for children (aged 0-17) in 2018. Please note, a patient may not have started treatment in 2018 and would therefore not appear in the answer to part 1.
This table also shows the number of appointments attended where treatment took place.
It is possible for a patient to have more than one referral or appointment for treatment and the table below may include the same patient more than once.
