Note: Jersey does not have Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). The below answers are pertinent to Government health services on the Island of Jersey, provided by the Health and Community Services Department (HCS).

A

As per the diabetes database used by the diabetes centre, there are likely to be at least 582 patients (all ages included) with type 1 diabetes living in Jersey. 41 patients are under 18 years old.

B

HCS does not hold a database of patients using Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) in adults. For 0-18 years old the figure is less than 10.

C

No. HCS follows NICE guidelines.

D

Not applicable.

E

Individual funding request or patient self-funded as well as funding from Diabetes Jersey charity.

Not applicable in respect of adults. In relation to 0-18 year olds Dexcom G6 is currently used.

H

HCS does not hold a database of IFR applications in respect of adults. 0-18 year olds less than 10.

HCS do not hold a database of patients using FGM in adults. There are 26 patients under 18 years of age.

Not currently, however a draft policy is in the final stages of approval. It is estimated that this will come to effect from November 2019, subject to final approval.
