Response
The design brief for a new hospital for Jersey has not been completed. On 3 May 2019, the Chief Minister proposed a revised approach and next steps for a new hospital. This report (R.54/2019) New Hospital Project: Next Steps sets out the timelines to completion of a design brief for a new hospital, the individuals who will be responsible for it and the way that this will be approached:
New Hospital Project: Next Steps
As the Chief Minister’s report set out, the first stage of the new Our Hospital project is to establish the appropriate political and senior officer governance, to develop a business case to secure funding for the 20-month process, and then to appoint key specialists to roles in the new project team.
The Political Oversight Group and the Senior Officer Steering Group have now been appointed and are meeting and actively progressing the initial process of establishing the project funding and action plan.
The design brief will follow, once a range of in-depth analysis has been completed into the revised clinical requirements, and other technical assessments have been completed.
