Response
A
The Car Parks section within Growth Housing and Environment (GHE) have a total of 24 gravel surfaced car parks situated around the Island, which include some located at the Sand Dunes, however not all gravel car parks are owned by the Government of Jersey.
The annual maintenance programme commences in April when the contractor inspects the car parks with any necessary repairs being carried out before resurfacing with hogging.
The car parks are checked again by the contractor during September with any major defects rectified in preparation for the winter months
In addition to the contractor visits random checks are carried out by GHE staff and the contractor will be notified regarding any major defects to be repaired.
GHE also responds to reports received from the public through Love Jersey or directly to the department.
B
The annual maintenance and repairing major defects involves planning the surface, repairing any defects, laying fresh hogging and rolling with a road roller.
