Request
Could you please advise when by date and amounts that the Treasury or any other department has taken money from the Social Security fund and when any of these funds have been repaid to the fund?
Response
In order to make it possible to respond to this information request the following assumptions have been made:
by “Social Security fund” the requestor is referring to the Social Security Reserve Fund;
given no time period was provided in the request the answer covers the reasonable period of 1 January 2009 to the date of this response; and
by “taken money from” we have assumed the requestor means capital withdrawals from the Social Security Reserve Fund which require Ministerial approval (rather than annual operating expenditure amounts that may be charged to the Fund in accordance with Fund parameters).
Applying the above assumptions, the answer is that no money has been withdrawn from the Social Security Reserve Fund.
