Hautlieu School fencing (FOI)

I would like to inquire about the final costs involved with the now completed fence around Hautlieu School because I am currently concerned that the school is using too much taxpayer’s money.

Response

The cost of the installation of the fencing at Hautlieu School was £18,500, inclusive of GST.

These safeguarding and site security improvements have been implemented following both internal and external reviews across the Department for Children, Young People, Education and Skills. A business case was developed for funding, to ensure these recommendations and improved safety arrangements can be realised. This investment provides a safe teaching and learning environment and supports the Government’s pledge to ‘put children first’.
