Could you please let me know as a Freedom of Information Request:
A
How many deaths last year were from lung cancer and
B
How many of these were caused by smoking.

The information requested is currently not held in an easily searchable format.
The annual mortality report is published each year in respect of the previous year’s figures. Please see the following link to the 2018 figures:

The 2019 figures in respect of mortality will be published in Autumn 2020 and the Smoking Profile in Spring 2021.
