What is the total budget spent on government IT systems over the last 5 years and any breakdown of this?
Response
As part of the wider States Public Sector Reform a transformation programme is underway in the Information Services department. This is providing an opportunity to review the costs for providing standard hardware/software platforms across the organisation. Below is a table showing the total spend on IT systems and support staff:

We are unable to release the breakdown on the basis that we are either replacing systems or tendering for services both of which impact on commercial sensitivity. Therefore Article 33, Commercial Interests is being applied. See exemption details below.

Information is qualified exempt information if:
(a) it constitutes a trade secret; or
(b) its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of a person (including the scheduled public authority holding the information).
