I would like to know the following information please:

• How many Aerial Appliances Jersey Fire & Rescue Service currently have in their fleet
• Make and model of these Aerial Appliances E.G. Bronto Skylift F 32 RL
• What fire stations these Aerial Appliances operate from
• Any plans to replace, dispose or buy new Aerial Appliances
• Age of these Aerial Appliances
• Any photos of these Aerial Appliances

Jersey has one Bronto Skylift F32RL Aerial Platform Ladder (A.L.P.) which is built onto a Man 18 tonne chassis cab and is currently in Service at Jersey Fire and Rescue main headquarters.

• The engine is a Man 6 litre engine which develops 250 bhp @ 1800 rpm
• The suspension is full of air to allow the vehicle to be exempt from local legislation to run at 16250kg and operate at its design limit of 18000kg
• The vehicle is fitted with disc brakes on both axles
• The cab has been configured for two people only
• The vehicle has a ride height of 3.45m
• The vehicle length is 8.8m
• The vehicle width is 2.4m
• The turning circle is 17m

• The ALP unit is the latest specification or “Series3”
• The ALP unit is a Bronto F32RL Combined Telescopic Hydraulic Platform / Ladder with 32m working height and a 325kg capacity cage
• The jacking is via Bronto’s jacking system incorporating long stroke jacks. Jacking has automatic levelling and movements are in pairs
• A 3.5 KVA hydraulically driven dynaset generator is built into the vehicle
• The stand-by engine is a Lister Self Start Unit operable from cage, turret or base console
• The monitor is remote control and capable of passing 2300 lpm. Flow meters and pressure gauge are built into the display systems.

The replacement of the current Aerial Ladder vehicle is part of a rolling programme due 2021.

The current Model was purchased in June 2006.
