Request
For the testing kits being used since the outbreak of Covid-19 in Jersey, what is the accuracy of the results? And if the accuracy of the results has changed over time, by how much has it.
Response
Until 9 April the Health and Community Services Department (HCS) sent all samples for testing to Public Health England. Therefore, for information relating to testing accuracy and whether this has changed over time is held by Public Health England. The information is not held by HCS.
Since 9 April, HCS has established on Island testing. Accuracy of the testing equipment is detailed within Section 20 of the manufacturer’s performance data, available at the following link (information correct as at 17 April):
Xpert Xpress SARS-CoV-2
The ‘accuracy’ has not changed since 9 April as far as we are aware.
