C

E

F
Finally, what criteria are applied when someone applies for such a license?
Response
A
The number varies as the Government of Jersey issue both Temporary and Standard P30 Permits.
The following table details the active licences as at 22 October 2020
Active P30 licences as at 22 October 2020 |
Standard Permits | Temporary Permits | Total |
594 | 40 | 634 |
B
There is no maximum licence issue number for P30 licences.
C
A P30 licence covers different categories of vehicles, with Standard Permits generally issued on an annual renewal basis.
Temporary Permits are usually granted to vehicles registered outside of Jersey and can be valid for a single day or for a specified number of days, therefore, the duration is specified as a condition on each licence
D
The same vehicle can renew their P30 licence if required.
E
There is currently no such policy in place.
F
All licences are granted under Article 78 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956 with applications being considered on the following basis:
Article 78 (1) -
“Where it appears to be desirable in the public interest so to do, the Inspector of Motor Traffic may grant”.
