Request

I would like to request the information for the points below pertaining specifically to the two randomly selected establishments (i) and (ii).

(i) JB's Brewhouse

(ii) BodyRox Jersey

The information request being:

A

The amounts received by each organization from the government as a part of their relief program for the months August and September 2020

B

The criteria that determines the relief amount that such organizations receive on a monthly/weekly basis

Response

The data requested is intended to be published as part of a broader reporting on the Co-funding payroll scheme.

This information will be available on the www.Gov.je website by the 31 December 2020 (within 12 weeks). We are therefore applying article 36 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) law 2011(Information intended for future publication).

Article 36 - Information intended for future publication

(1) Information is qualified exempt information if, at the time when the request for the information is made, the information is being held by a public authority with a view to its being published within 12 weeks of the date of the request.

(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant –

(a) of the date when the information will be published;

(b) of the manner in which it will be published; and

(c) by whom it will be published.

(3) In this Article, “published” means published –

(a) by a public authority; or

(b) by any other person.

Public interest Test:

The release of the data is not considered to be in the public interest because an extensive audit is being carried out on many of the applications to the scheme, meaning some businesses may be required to repay money they have been awarded.

The amounts currently received by the 2 businesses identified in this request may not turn out to be the final amount entitled to, so to publish this information would be unfair and possibly inaccurate.

Information relating to all businesses receiving funding from the scheme will be published before the end of the year meaning data for all businesses will be made available at the same time.
