States Greffe response
As of 1 December 2020 (inclusive) there had been 52 days on which the States Assembly had met during the year (with each day in this instance taken to constitute a separate States meeting); and there had been a total of 83 public hearings held by Scrutiny and Review Panels.
All States meetings and all public hearings are streamed live. To date in 2020, the costs to the States Greffe of live streaming the meetings and public hearings have been as follows:
£12,823.50 to Public-i (for the annual provision of webcasting facilities);
£9,567.80 to Delta Production Services (for the hire of equipment, set-up and staff for two States meetings held at Fort Regent in March 2020); and
£1,404.78 to Ports of Jersey (for the recording set-up at Fort Regent and in the States Chamber).
Total expenditure has therefore amounted to £23,796.08.
As there have been a total of 135 live-streamed ‘events’, the average cost to date has been £176.27 per event. However, this average includes the expenditure on two States meetings held at Fort Regent in March 2020 (as shown above). Disregarding these two meetings, the average would be lower.
