Request
Please can I ask how much Rock construction is paying the Government to rent five parking spaces in the Seymour gravel carpark?
This car park was gifted to Islanders for beach parking so I’m surprised the Government can rent it out to a construction company, the signs reserving the parking spaces say it’s been rented from the Government.
Response
The Government of Jersey have a licence agreement in place with ROK Construction to allow them to use part of the Seymour Slip Car Park on a temporary basis for the parking of seven vehicles.
The licence was granted to facilitate the construction of the development known as “The Waves”. The licence runs from 9 March 2020 until 30 September 2021. Parking is restricted to Mondays to Fridays: 07:00 to 17:30 and Saturdays: 07:00 to 14:00.
A Monthly Licence Fee of £690.25 (plus GST) is being paid by ROK. This is based on a figure of £100 per vehicle per month with a slight reduction for the winter months (October to March).
