Request
What is the Jersey Government doing concerning the current UK requirement that residents returning home to Jersey from a Green or Amber country, but transiting through a UK airport the same day or the next day, are required to book and pay for non-refundable Covid-19 tests in the UK that will not be taken?
Response
Clarification of the wording is being sought with the UK Government, however the policy has been confirmed to the Government of Jersey that those transiting to a destination within the Common Travel Area do currently have to purchase the testing packages.
Representations have been made to the UK Government concerning this matter and the policy is currently under consideration by the UK Department for Health and Social Care following representations by each of the Crown Dependencies.
