Request

Please could you provide me with information regarding if there are any refugee families currently being housed in Jersey, and if so who has made this decision and what cost will it be to the tax payer

Response

There are currently no refugee families being housed in Jersey by the States of Jersey.

This does not preclude the possibility that someone who has been granted refugee status in the UK or in Europe, has chosen to move to Jersey to live and to work.

If this were to be the case, they would be subject to the same restrictions as any other newly arrived migrant with regard to access to housing, work and benefits.
