Request
When Islanders recycle, what actually happens to the glass, paper, cardboard, metal and so on that is taken to the recycling stations on the Island or collected by the Parish refuse collectors?
Response
The Department for Infrastructure, Housing and Environment manages a supply chain that receives and processes the recyclables separately collected from its household and commercial reception sites at La Collette, the Island wide network of recycling ‘bring banks’ also known as mini recycling centres and the household recycling collections delivered by the Parishes of St John, St Mary, Trinity, St Lawrence, St Brelade and St Peter.
The information you have requested is partially exempt under Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 because the information is already accessible to you on www.gov.je using the following links.
