Request

A

How many derelict buildings are there in Jersey as of 2022?

B

How many States owned buildings are derelict as of 2022? (there were 23 as of 2019, but CLM house is now under construction).

Response

A

The Government of Jersey does not hold information regarding the number of derelict buildings in Jersey.  Therefore, Article 10 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

B

Jersey Property Holdings (JPH) does not maintain a list of government owned buildings that are categorised as derelict.  Therefore, this information is not held and Article 10 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

However, JPH record their vacant properties as shown in our previous Freedom of Information response in 2019.

Vacant Government owned properties (FOI)

21 Government of Jersey owned properties are vacant as at 16 March 2022.

No further information will be provided identifying the location of each property since this is exempt under Article 42 (Law Enforcement) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

This information is being withheld as it is considered that its disclosure into the public domain would likely create an opportunity for break-ins and / or vandalism.
