I am writing to request clarification on the response provided for questions 2, 3 and 7 in the Education services for deaf children and young people - Budget for 2022 to 2023 - questionnaire

Please can you provide the budgeted spend figures for 2022 / 23 and if there is a reduction or change please explain why.

Clarify if the ‘review’ referred to in the response to Q.3 is the ARC / Specialist ACRs for DCYP review reported in Q.7 or a different review?

Confirmation of the timescale planned for this review: please provide all relevant dates planned by the local authority from initiation to completion of the entire review process planned, including dates of all key stages and activities planned, including consultation and co-production activities

Currently anticipated spend for the academic year 2022/2023 is the same as 2021/2022.

£194,218 (Central Hearing Deaf Support Team)

£196,000 (Additionally Resourced Centres (ARCs) for Deaf Children and Young People (DCYP) devolved to schools via a Service Level Agreement.

This forms part of the same Inclusion Review.

ARCs and Specialist ARCs for DCYP Review:

The Inclusion Review is complete, and a project plan is now being formulated to implement the recommendations of the review. 

The Inclusion Review findings can be found on www.gov.je: 

Independent Review of Inclusive Education and Early Years 2021 (gov.je)

It is anticipated that the project will run until the end of December 2022.

The terms of reference form part of the Invitation to Tender which was provided in a previously published Freedom of Information response therefore Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied.

Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.

A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
