Bicycle Parking at Health and Community sites (FOI)

Sheltered bicycle parking on all hospital/HCS sites.

There appears to be a clear lack of cycle parking on all hospital sites, despite the benefits of exercise, healthy living and reduced pollution and cars on the road.

The General hospital has a large staff secure area to park, where there does not appear to be parity across other sites.

Please can tell me at the sites below which have

A

allocated parking for more than 5 bicycles to secured to a bike rack frame, for visitors

B

secure staff bicycle parking, eg a sheltered, or enclosed/locked space rack for more than 5bicycles

C

what plans, abit even interim, that the GOJ are doing to lack this issue .

The below table details bicycle parking at the Children, Young People, Education and Skills managed sites:

The following bicycle parking is available across the Health & Community Services managed sites. In all cases where bicycle parking is available there is shared access by visitors and staff:

Overdale Hospital: There is space for 12 bikes on the bike rack. The bike rack is not secured to the ground nor is it covered or access controlled.

Eagle House: No bicycle parking exists. Public bike racks exist nearby.

Le Bas: There is space for 16 bikes on the bike rack. This rack is covered but not access controlled.

La Chasse - Adult Mental Health: There is space for four bikes on the bike rack. This rack is covered but not access controlled.

Home Treatment Team - Maison du Lac: No bike racks exist or are available nearby.

Orchard House: No bike racks exist or are available nearby.

Clinique Pinel, St Saviours: No bike racks exist or are available nearby

No current plans are known of to introduce new or additional bicycle parking at any of the above sites.

The following entities are not Government of Jersey sites:

Fit for Health at Le Squez

Clairvale supported living house

All learning disabilities supported group homes
