Can you tell me how many times the defibrillators which are available to the public around the island have been used in the last 3 years please?

Also, are you able to break the information down to annual figures as I know Covid may have distorted numbers?

Lastly, are you able you able to tell me how many devices there are around the island which are available to the general public? (not those within office buildings which would be locked after a certain time)

Response

There is currently no designated guardian singularly responsible for all of the Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) available to the public in Jersey. However, Health and Community Services and the Ambulance Service provide assistance in maintaining the devices and the information provided is taken from the combined records of these services.

According to the records that are held for all of the AED's situated around Jersey, they have been used six times in the past three years (looking at complete years 2019 – 2021).

Use of the defibrillators in question is as follows: 

2019 – 2

2020 – 2 (not accurately recorded)

2021 – 2

C

There are a total of 84 public access defibrillators located around Jersey.
