Please can I request: 

A

The number of recorded sexual offences against children aged under 18, for the period 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022, broken down by age and gender of victims (by individual year of age where possible)

B

The number of recorded sexual offences against under 18s for the above time frame that had a cyber flag attached.

Response

The below statistics do not include offences where the identity and the age of the victim remain unconfirmed, such as crimes of possession of indecent images of children.

Article 25 (Personal information) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 is engaged. Where numbers are fewer than five (<5), disclosure control is applied to avoid identification of any individuals. In a number of very limited cases, and in order to prevent the calculation of precise numbers under 5, it has also been necessary to simply refer to numbers as greater than 5 (>5).

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005.

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005; and

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
