Request
When liquid petroleum products are imported in bulk by sea & unloaded at La Collette Tanker Terminal, the cargo (as per any other commodity) is presumably purchased from the refinery by retailers at the agreed market price on the day of sale. How can the cost to Jersey consumers then fluctuate in-line with the global price per barrel whilst fuel retailers are essentially selling the same product from the same ship? Common sense dictates that the retail price per litre should remain static until the next petroleum tanker vessel discharges at the Port - which is relatively infrequent.
