Could you list the equipment and or fixtures from the Nightingale hospital that have remained on the island?

A          

All items remain on island with the exception of 200 oxygen concentrators which were donated to the Government of Ukraine in March 2022 to assist in their crisis response.

B          

The information you have requested is partially exempt under Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 because the information is already accessible to you on www.gov.je  within the previous FOI response linked below.

The value of the items fluctuates with the medical equipment market. Ongoing enquiries within the market clearly show that there is no monetary value attached to these items.

C         

Please see the attached spreadsheet for details of where medical equipment has been distributed within the Health and Community Services (HCS) Community Sector Group. Medical consumables have been reused within the General Hospital or are in storage awaiting reuse.

For all the non-medical items, these are being reused as part of the renovations ongoing at the old Les Quennevais School site.

Interest had been expressed in the purchase of a number of items from Health and Community Services. However, this was at a time when the pandemic response required us to retain island capacity and it was not deemed appropriate to dispose of any items. Going forward a small amount will be retained for future pandemic mitigation.

D         

Donation of all items is free of charge as authorised by the Health and Community Services Executive Board in February 2022. This is in-line with the Pandemic Stock Evaluation 2022 paper and the principles of the Jersey Care Model.

All donations to the HCS Community Sector Group enable HCS to support community care and keep General Hospital beds free for the delivery of acute care.

E          

Delivery of donated equipment (excluding the oxygen concentrators delivered to Ukraine in March 2022, as detailed above) began in June 2022 and is anticipated to be complete by September 2022.
