Request
How many first-time offenders (with no criminal history) have been sent to prison for driving offences inclusive of careless driving, dangerous driving, speeding, drink driving and failing to report an accident? Please provide statistics for each, not including suspended sentences.
Response
Statistics have been collated for the last 5 years by the States of Jersey Police. Please note the disparity between the number of “offenders” and the number of “offences”. This is due to the fact that some individuals were convicted for more than one offence as part of the same incident.
