Please advise what the catering costs of all emergency workers employed by the Government of Jersey at the Weekender 2023 are. 

Please list all foods and beverages consumed including alcohol whilst on duty.

Response

All States of Jersey Police officers on duty at this event either took their own food or bought from one of the vendors. 

Under both Schedule 1 part 11 of the Police (complaints and discipline procedure) (Jersey) Order 2000 and Part 3 - 12 (1) of the Licencing (Jersey) Law 1974, officers are not allowed to drink alcohol whilst on duty.

11      Sobriety

Whilst on duty, officers must be sober. Officers should not consume alcohol when on duty unless specifically authorized to do so or it becomes necessary for the proper discharge of police duty.

Licencing (Jersey) Law 1974

12      General conditions of on-licences

(1)     For the purposes of this Law an on-licence shall be deemed to be granted subject to the following conditions, namely that –

               g)     intoxicating liquor shall not be supplied to any of the following persons, namely –

                            (i)      persons under the influence of alcohol,

                            (ii)      police officers in uniform.
