Response

A

A total of 794 grants have been awarded under the E-bike Grant Scheme to date, across releases in January, April and July of this year. So far, 189 e-bike grants have been redeemed at a total cost of £66,600. E-bike grants are valid for three months and so those awarded in July are still being redeemed. Any grants not redeemed are taken forward into future quarterly releases.

Questions about intended use and experience of cycling are included in the application form for the E-bike Grant Scheme but are not prerequisites to the application process.

The Air Source Heat Pump training is carried out at Highlands College and is provided by UK based trainers from a specialist training provider.  Courses are run when demand is at a sufficient level to make them cost effective.  To date 20 individuals have applied for and completed the three-day Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pump Systems at Highlands College. The 20 individuals who undertook the training through Highlands College came from seven local firms.

Firms wishing to take part in the Low Carbon Heating Incentive scheme are required to register through an accredited contractor scheme which is administered by a UK based company, MCS.  The local scheme is called CQS (contractor quality scheme).  To date, four firms have registered and are approved installers under the Low Carbon Heating Incentive Scheme.  One further firm is currently going through the required registration process.
