Please provide evidence of how complete informed consent was obtained from the general public prior to installing the Vivacity cameras.
Response
The AI sensors in the Vivacity cameras only capture blurred-at-source video data locally on the device, such as images of the road space, and uses software to extract anonymous data from the image, for example, there is a pedestrian here, and a cyclist here.
No identifiable personal data is collected, therefore, there was no requirement to seek informed consent from the general public prior to installing the six Vivacity AI sensors, however, the public were informed about the installation via Infrastructure and Environment’s Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) site on 9 October 2023.
