Request
I previously read a reply to an enquiry about how much money has been saved by the schools and Government of Jersey (in terms of salary and other costs, such as pensions and benefits) for each strike day for the calendar years 2019 through to 2022 inclusive and for 2023 up to those in September. It was in the area of £350,000.
Please advise what is this money used for, dedicated to, and what silo of funding does this go into?
Response
Money that was not spent on salaries and other costs during strike days remained within the Government of Jersey schools’ budgets. School budget holders will manage their funds accordingly and in the context of their own schools. Therefore, it is not possible to provide specific details of what the money was used for or dedicated to as this will be different at each school.
