How many young people in Jersey were, are, predicted to be in full time secondary education (year 7 to year 11) in all States funded schools in: 

a) Sept 2018? 

b) Sept 2023? 

c) Sept 2028? 

d) Sept 2033?

Response

The Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 gives a right to request information that is held in recorded form, unless exempt. The September 2028 and September 2033 aspect of the request poses a question regarding future predications rather than seeking information held in recorded form. Therefore Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

Please see attached table for the breakdown of the number of children who were in full time secondary education (Year 7 to Year 11) in all Government of Jersey schools in September 2018 and September 2023:

Article 3 - Meaning of “information held by a public authority”

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –

(a)     it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or

(b)     it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
