Employment of Dr Y (FOI)

In the Royal College of Physicians Rheumatology Report there is a consultant physician referred to as Dr Y.  The report confirms that Dr Y is still employed by HCS, despite being suspended in January 2022.

Please confirm the annual salary of Dr Y.

Please confirm how much in total Dr Y has been paid since his suspension in January 2022.

Response

The information requested is the personal data of an individual, and therefore, is exempt from disclosure under Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011. 

As detailed in previous Freedom of Information responses, suspension is a neutral act, and any individual who is suspended from duty will receive full pay.

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018; and

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
