How many times has the States of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service  responded to a 999 emergency call from members of the general public who have rung the Emergency Services Control Centre to report a smell of gas or odour of gas on the third layby car park on Victoria Avenue and what is actually being done by Island Energy and the Government of Jersey in relation to the high number of concerning emergency call outs?

Response

The States of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (SJFRS) have responded to ‘Smell of Gas’ calls at Victoria Avenue Lay-by 3 on fourteen occasions. All fourteen incidents were subsequently handed over to Island Energy for investigation. SJFRS are unable to comment on the actions of Island Energy.
