Regarding primary and secondary GOJ maintained fee-paying and non fee-paying schools, please provide the following information:

1) which schools projected a budget DEFICIT for YE 31/12/2024 at the end of the third quarter (Q3) of 2024.

For each of these schools, please provide:

- The name of the school

- The number of children enrolled at the school

- The total amount of the budget deficit projected for the year as observed the end of Q3 2024

2) which GOJ schools projected a budget SURPLUS for YE 31/12/2024 at the end of the third quarter (Q3) of 2024.

For each of these schools, please provide:

- The name of the school 

- The number of children enrolled at the school

- The total amount of the projected budget surplus at the end of Q3 2024.

Response

The Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 gives a right to request information that is held in recorded form, unless exempt. This aspect of the request poses a question for projected data rather than seeking information held in recorded form. Article 3 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 applies.

For the purposes of this Law, information is held by a public authority if –

(a)     it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or

(b)     it is held by another person on behalf of the authority.
