I am looking for information on Jersey primary school pupils' attendance, with a focus on those in receipt of the Jersey Premium. I have looked online and am unable to find what I need. I would like to know:

Attendance

- Whole school attendance rates of GOJ primary school pupils, by school (and parish) each year, over the last six academic years, starting in 2018/19. 

- Attendance rates of GOJ primary school pupils eligible for Pupil Premium, by school (and parish), each year over the last six academic years, starting in 2018/19.

Response

Both morning and afternoon Government of Jersey school attendance has been used in the calculation of the attendance rate data below.

Only compulsory school age pupils have been included in this data (Years Reception to Year 6). Attendance rate for Jersey Premium pupils includes all Government of Jersey school pupils in receipt of Jersey Premium funding.

The attendance data between 23/03/2020 and 17/07/2020 has been excluded from this report as it represents the period the schools were closed due to COVID lockdown in academic year 2019/2020 and the recording of the data during this period is inconsistent.

The number of available sessions by academic year has been reduced due to school closures caused by the following reasons: COVID, teacher strikes, adverse weather conditions.

Statistical disclosure controls have been applied to these datasets where cohorts are fewer than 5. The Department have determined that to provide the figures fewer than 5 would likely breach the privacy of individuals therefore disclosure control has been applied under Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) 2011 Law.
