The regulation of water quality is carried out by a number of teams within the Government of Jersey’s Infrastructure & Environment Department, Regulation Directorate; Pollution Control, Food and Public Health, Housing & Nuisance.
The quality of water provided by Jersey Water is regulated under the Water (Jersey) Law 1972​, as amended.
The quality of water from other private sources can be regulated under Statutory Nuisances (Jersey) Law 1999 .
The management of water quantity is regulated under the Water Resources (Jersey) Law 2007​

Jersey Water are not a Scheduled Public Authority (SPA), therefore, they are not required to respond under Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

(a) it is held by the authority, otherwise than on behalf of another person; or
