Regarding the change of name of Jersey College for Girls Preparatory School to Jersey College Preparatory School.
Please confirm:

The number of formal complaints received from parents of students regarding the name containing the word 'girls'.

The estimated cost or budget for rebranding the school to Jersey College Preparatory School.

A
No formal complaints were received prior to the name change being proposed.
However, informal feedback from students, parents and visitors has been received over a period of time questioning the inclusive nature of the school name.
Within the last few years, the school has also become known as ‘JCG Prep’ which was introduced in part to address this issue.
Over a quarter of the school’s population is made up of boys. The name change will reflect the inclusive, co-educational nature of the provision and the school’s commitment to its core values.

No written complaints were received prior to the name change being proposed.
However, three written complaints were received by Jersey College Preparatory School after the name change was proposed.

The new logo and school name will be added to branded materials at natural points of purchasing. For example, Jersey College Preparatory School headed paper will be rebranded when the current stock runs out.
