Request 679487008

How many ulnar nerves operations have been carried out in Jersey over the last five years? (if this results in Data protection limitations because of too small numbers to report, make it ten years)

How many have required further surgery because of complications?

Response

11 ulnar nerve surgeries have been completed through Jersey General Hospital in the past five years, from 2020 to 2024 (inclusive).

Cases in scope of the request have been identified using procedure codes attributed for ulnar nerve procedures, and documentation in the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) has been reviewed to confirm whether these were primary or secondary / revisionary operations.

Fewer than five procedures completed across this timeframe have been secondary or revisionary procedures. As numbers are small, disclosure control has been applied to protect individuals from identification, and Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law has been applied to protect the privacy of individuals.
