Bullying complaints (FOI)

Could you please tell me for the years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015, how many States employees have made complaints of bullying by department, and what has been the outcome of these complaints. 

Response

Within the central Human Resources Department, information in regards to cases was only recorded from 2013 onwards, and departments have been unable to locate any previous information for the years 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Also, due to the low number of cases recorded within the States of Jersey for bullying and harassment, we are unable to break the information down by year, department, for the years 2013 to 2015, and, as such, Article 25 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied. ​

Due to information being centrally recorded from 2013 onwards, the quality and the amount of data recorded has become more accurate, which is the main reason for increases from 2013 to 2015.

25 Personal information  

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005.

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if:

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005; and

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
