I would like to request any data of reported Road Traffic Collisions that have occurred at the Haute Croix junction (Trinity / St John) over the past 20 years. I'd like this to also include the approximately 100 metre stretch of each road approaching this junction (La Grande Route de St Jean [A9], La Route D'Ebenezer [A8], La Rue Du Betchets Es Cats [B63], and La Route Issues [A9]).
I am making this request following my recent discussion with police regarding the increasing speeds with which cars approach this junction and the increasing difficulty pedestrians have crossing the roads, and my concern for pedestrian safety. To support the request for traffic calming measures it was advised I make this Freedom of Information request to provide supporting evidence.
Response
The States of Jersey Police only holds information surrounding Road Traffic Collisions (RTCs) dating back to 2004.
Haute Croix is not the name of a road. The four roads that make the junction, as mentioned above, have been searched as locations and the table below shows the results for the number of RTCs for each year from 2004 on the roads.
2004 | 16 | 3 | 19 |
2005 | 19 | 2 | 21 |
2006 | 24 | 9 | 33 |
2007 | 28 | 5 | 33 |
2008 | 26 | 6 | 32 |
2009 | 25 | 7 | 32 |
2010 | 25 | 6 | 31 |
2011 | 22 | 8 | 30 |
2012 | 16 | 5 | 21 |
2013 | 22 | 5 | 27 |
2014 | 25 | 4 | 29 |
2015 | 25 | 5 | 27 |
2016 | 12 | 1 | 13 |
An anonymised spreadsheet has been included to give approximate locations on each road to assist the requester.
