Summary
This report presents statistics on the deaths of Jersey residents registered for 2014.
This latest report shows that the number of deaths in 2014 was 4 percent lower than in the previous year (2013).
Cancer, circulatory diseases and respiratory diseases were the three largest causes of death. Around a third (37 percent) of all deaths in 2014 occurred in those below 75 years of age.
Death statistics include counts of death by age and sex, and by selected cause of death.
The data presented in this report is based on records of deaths that occurred in calendar year 2014, which were received from the Superintendent Registrars office, along with data from the Viscount’s Office, and processed by the Public Health Department.
