Summary
As part of Jersey’s energy policy, Poyry Energy Consulting was commissioned in 2007 to investigate the feasibility of importing all fuel oils and natural gas via pipelines and thus removing the dependency of shipping and fuel farms. The report highlights key areas such as:
- minimising economic costs
- ensuring export industries remain competitive
- meeting environmental needs
- ensuring equal distribution of the costs and benefits
The summary of the report includes the cost of constructing and maintaining a pipeline for both oil products and gas in Jersey.
