Island Risk Profile

Produced by the Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (Justice and Home Affairs)
Authored by Fire and Rescue Service and published on 18 Apr 2008
Prepared internally, no external cost

Summary

The aim of risk profiling is to bring together various sources of risk information such as UK statistics and research, local social demographic information and local fire statistics on the type and number of incidents that have occurred  to determine the predicted rate of fire and casualties for a given area.  This approach will help us identify existing and potential risks to the community and ensures that we direct and allocate resources to where they are most effective.

Our Island Risk Profile takes relevant data on local fires and other emergency incidents and, using established formulae, presents a 'picture' of how each Parish compares in terms of the likelihood of a fire or emergency occurring and the typical severity of that incident based on previous experience.
