Summary
The Independent Visitors for Young People (IVYP) visit secure and open residential units in Jersey to meet children and young people and provide a befriending role and represent their views.
They endeavour to identify, understand and articulate any concerns and issues that are raised by the young people and communicate them to Children’s Services and Children and Vulnerable Adults (CAVA) Policy Group Ministers.
The 2016 annual report covers:
- an overview of what has taken place over the course of the year within the IVYP
- findings from the children’s homes
- reflections and observations from the IVYP
This document is a redacted version of the original to ensure anonymity of the children and young people documented within the report.
