Registration of Pharmacy Premises
1. Background
An application has been received from Mr A Reid, Managing Director of Reids Pharmacy Limited, in accordance with Article 74 of the Law, for the registration of premises as a pharmacy.
The plans for the premises at The Lido Medical Centre, St Saviours Road, St Helier, JE1 7XP have been inspected by the Chief Pharmacist and are considered suitable for the purpose of carrying on a retail pharmacy business. Security arrangements meet the necessary requirements of the Medicines (Jersey) Law 1995 and the Misuse of Drugs (Jersey) Law 1978. Arrangements made for the sale and supply of medicinal products are considered satisfactory.
These premises will be an additional pharmacy in the island, taking the number of registered pharmacies to 27.
2. Recommendation
The Minister is requested to approve the registration of Reids Pharmacy, The Lido Medical Centre, St Saviours Road St Helier, as a pharmacy in accordance with the provisions of Article 74 of the Medicines (Jersey) Law 1995 with effect from 1st January 2007.

An application has been received from Ms Marion Whitehead, Office Manager, Pharmacy Superintendents Office, Boots the Chemist in accordance with Article 74 of the Law, for the registration of premises as a pharmacy.
The plans for the premises, Boots The Chemists, 62 King Street, St Helier, JE2 4WE have been inspected by the Chief Pharmacist and are considered suitable for the purpose of carrying on a retail pharmacy business. Security arrangements meet the necessary requirements of the Medicines (Jersey) Law 1995 and the Misuse of Drugs (Jersey) Law 1978. Arrangements made for the sale and supply of medicinal products are considered satisfactory and will be under the direction and management of a Superintendent Pharmacist as required by Article 70 of the Law.
These premises will be an additional pharmacy in the island, taking the number of registered pharmacies to 28.
4. Recommendation
The Minister is requested to approve the registration of Boots the Chemists, 62 King Street, St Helier, as a pharmacy in accordance with the provisions of Article 74 of the Medicines (Jersey) Law 1995 with effect from 29th January 2007.
