Getting to the hospitals: transport and parking

​General Hospital

Entrances

The General Hospital is in St Helier. 

The main entrance to the hospital is on the Parade. This entrance is open 24 hours a day. You need to ring the bell to request entry at night. 

There is another entrance on Newgate Street, near Patriotic Street car park. 

This entrance is open from 7.45am to 7.45pm.

Parking

The nearest public car park is Patriotic Street. The bottom level is reserved for hospital patients. Y​ou must pay to park here and have proof of your appointment, such as your appointment letter.

Disabled parking

Disabled parking spaces are available on level 2 of Patriotic Street car park. There are also disabled parking spaces outside the Newgate Street entrance for short stay parking. 

It's a very busy entrance used by ambulances.

St Saviour’s Hospital

St Saviour’s Hospital is in St Saviour on La Route de la Hougue Bie, near Queen’s Valley reservoir.

There is a free car park for patient and visitors attending the hospital.

Buses

Various buses stop at or near the hospitals.

Non-emergency patient transport

Health and Care Jersey (HCJ) provide a non-emergency transport service for those who are are medically unfit to travel by any other means and have no other way of travelling to or from hospital. 

If you're eligible for this service, your GP or the hospital medical staff can make the necessary arrangements for you.
