Mr Jon Shenfine is a specialist Upper GI, General and Bariatric surgeon.
He has an interest in all areas of upper GI surgery, including:
- advanced laparoscopy
- bariatric surgery
- anti-reflux surgery
- upper GI oncology
- complicated biliary disease
He performs a wide range of general surgery, including:
- laparoscopic groin (inguinal) and incisional hernia repairs
- gallbladder surgery
- fundoplication and LINX for reflux
- bowel resection
- upper GI endoscopy
- minor surgeries such as ingrowing toenails and excision of lesions
Jon has an international reputation for research in upper GI surgery and holds honorary positions at the University of Adelaide, Flinders University and Edinburgh University. He speaks internationally on upper gastrointestinal surgery and helped to set up the Oesophageal Cancer Awareness campaign in the UK. He has worked as a consultant surgeon at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, UK; The Royal Adelaide Hospital; Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide prior to returning to the UK due the travel issues of COVID-19.
Jon consults publicly at Jersey General Hospital on Monday mornings and Tuesday afternoons.
He consults privately at the Vida Aesthetic Rooms (Suite 3.2) at the Lido Medical Centre on Monday afternoons.
He endoscopes on Wednesday mornings and operates on Thursdays and Fridays at Jersey General Hospital.
