The Environment and Public Services Committee is carrying out essential refurbishment to the First Tower car park at La Route ès Nouaux from Monday 14th November until Friday 9th December. This will involve a partial loss of spaces during the contract period.
Sufficient spaces will be made available for those people parking in the car park to vote in the election of Deputies on Wednesday 23rd November at the polling station in the nearby First Tower School.
The contractor, Matrix Solutions UK Ltd will be applying a new surface material to the top deck of the car park and both external and internal repairs will be carried out with new surface coatings applied to ceiling and walls.
Sections of the car park will be unavailable for parking as work is carried out. The programme has been designed to cause the minimum of disruption to the public. Some work will be carried out at weekends and in the evenings to ensure the public will be inconvenienced as little as possible.
Access to the lower floor will still be via the top floor except for a short period while work to the access point on the top deck will be undertaken. Signposts will be displayed to inform motorists of the situation.
This £100,000 project is part of an ongoing programme of refurbishment, funded from the car park trading fund, generated by the car park scratch card scheme, to maintain the Island ’s parking infrastructure.
